Junior/ Intermediate Data Scientist

Docktech is focused on creating a Digital Twin of Ports/Waterways, so the Data Scientist job requires dealing with a host of various sensors, incorporating geospatial and temporal features. As it is a small team, the Data Scientist will also be involved with Data Engineering, structuring the workflows, and creating production-level code.

Responsibilities

  • Research and understand the Maritime/Bathymetry world, and how Data Science can improve current systems.

  • Be in charge of one's own projects, helping determine evaluation metrics and running experiments.

Required Skills

  • At least one year experience working as a data scientist (preferably if was involved in pushing models to production.)

  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, product-oriented group that has several concurrent projects.

  • Proficiency in python and the standard data science libraries (NumPy, pandas, sklearn, etc.)

Advantages

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in statistics, applied mathematics, computer science, or related discipline.

  • Knowledge of Serverless architecture and cloud computing (AWS).

  • Familiar with Maritime sensors (echo sounders, GPS, anemometer, etc.).
